Project Overview

A&M was awarded the insulation package to insulate 11 new Code level 6 family homes; the first in Southampton.

Whilst featuring renewable technologies including solar PV and Bio-mass, the energy strategy for these ‘true carbon zero’ homes relied heavily on the effective application of many passive construction techniques; all of the homes benefit from a highly efficient building fabric, extremely low levels of air permeability, and thermally modelled junctions to avoid cold bridging.

A&M’s involvement

11 plots were completed within 2011 insulating external walls, party walls, internal walls and the flat roof.

Knauf Frametherm was used for all the walls.

He was on site exactly at the agreed time, very knowledgeable and kept a friendly and polite attitude all day. Your men turned up nice and early. They explained everything, gave the H&S notice and door signs. They were pleasant, and very quick and efficient in doing the job, and the house was left clean.
